designing for trust, not just style

a useful website is usually not the one with the most effects.

it is the one where a visitor can answer three questions quickly:

  1. what is this?
  2. is this relevant to me?
  3. what should i do next?

everything else is decoration, and decoration is only worth what it costs.

the practical rule

if core information is trapped behind a popup or a javascript interaction, move it to a real page with a real url.

that improves human usability and search visibility at the same time, which is rare enough to be worth noticing.

trust is not a visual style. it is the accumulated effect of a hundred small moments where the thing did what it said it would do.
